LET UTAH CHILDREN HEAR

To encourage and support access to quality hearing healthcare including state-of-the-art hearing technology for all children in Utah who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

Hearing Aids Make A Difference

Our Supporting Beliefs

Language development of children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing is likely to be impaired by the hearing loss.

Language skills of children who have hearing loss improve when they are provided with hearing aids.

Providing hearing aids to children with hearing loss will reduce the costs borne by the state.

Because of early identification through newborn hearing screenings, infants with hearing loss

can be fit with amplification at younger ages than ever before.

Normal language, cognitive, and social development for children with hearing loss

is possible and even likely with appropriate family-centered intervention.

Early access to appropriate amplification and intervention can allow families to communicate with their children.

Children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing can learn to hear and speak at a commensurate rate with their hearing peers.

Children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing deserve the chance to access quality education

and the opportunity to explore the world through hearing.

Currently, 25 other states have passed legislation improving access to hearing aids for children through private insurance coverage.

Utah is NOT one of them.

We propose cost-effective solutions in Utah to improve access to hearing aids for children.
